Nai’a (Hawaiian name) / Spinner Dolphins – (Stenella longirostris) These social species are known for their acrobatic & aerial behavior (hence the name spinner). They can make two to 5.5 spins in one leap, twisting the body as it rises into the air. Being nocturnal feeders (Hawaiian Spinner) it may be harming the dolphins when receiving multiple daily visits to their resting grounds. We need to be conscious observers, to minimize human impact on these beautiful creatures.
